I consider Stella to be one of our best broodmares.  We raised Stella out of our Hankins mare with King P234 and Colonel Freckles both on her papers. Stella's sire is a good, big Doc Bar stud that is a good all around horse including roping steers.  Stella was broke to ride as a filly and the trainer gave her excellent marks for overall intelligence and having a natural handle on her. Her mother was used as a ranch horse several years prior to being bred and was a mare you could go do anything on including putting a novice rider on and not having to worry. Stella raised a good red roan horse colt last year-- see horse page-- and we are keeping her very impressive filly colt this year.  She is bred back to the Pig Creek Roan stud for a 2005 colt in the Spring.  Stella is of good size, has a good head and big hip on her.  She is easy going, quiet and easy to handle and just meets all the requirements for a good broodmare.  I wish we had a pasture full like Stella.
